I finished the book! =O

the book was sad but good
I almost cried if my cat didn't pop out of no where and jumped on back while I was reading. LOL
But anyways the end was really powerful and the whole point of this stories is that secrets can kill just as much as the disease. Telling the truth is very important part of life and lies can make people mad. When Ben started to tell people the truth He was getting in trouble more then if he told the truth in the beginning. I wish through that Dallas didn't get so mad. I mean I think I would be mad too but I would also try to understand how Ben was feeling and I probably get over being mad in like a few days.
I thought it was really powerful when Cody read Ben's speech and that they made that street Malcolm x Avenue. I can't believe sooner and Rudy died also.
But anyways great Book happy I read it just sad but good ending =)

Ben is in over his head!!

Ben i WAY over his head with everything. Like Dallas has a KID!!!!! messed up but i kind of though something was up with Dallas and Joe-Henry. If he gets to close to Dallas it's going to hurt Dallas so much because of the promise he made to her. HE SHOULD HAVE TOLD HER WHEN HE STILL COULD HAVE!!! but now it's too late. I also maybe Dallas suspects something, or something is wrong with her or why else would she have him promise her that. I mean, they aren't THAT serious right? Because of all the things Dallas went through i'm scared that once Ben dies that will but the last straw and she might do something she'll regret.

Dallas Suzuki has a kid!

I can't believe that Dallas has a kid, and I am surprised that they kept it. I really thought that joe henry was her brother! But I guess it makes sense because usually when he get sexually harassed or raped, there's most of the time a child from it. I really hope that ben tells her soon because it seems like things keep getting bigger and bigger and things will crash and burn when he tells her, if he tells her before he gets sick. It's great that he will be there for her even though he won't be there to much longer. But, again, it is also bad that he hasn't told her yet. Also, I when she said that her grandparents went to a concentration camp, I was surprised and a little confused. At first I thought t myself, "Wait, Dallas is Jewish?!?" And then I read on and saw that she was talking about Japan and the war and things like that. I completely forgot that she was Japanese, but in the beginning I guess I thought she was asian...whoops! haha.

But wow, Joe henry doesn't even know that she is his actual mother. That's crazy, and sad.

Dallas has way too many secrets

She had that whole thing with her uncle and now you find out that she has a son! Another thing that amazes me is that she tells Ben all this and that she trusts him enough to do so. I don't think I ever could do that if I were her. I also feel bad that her Mom doesn't seem to try help supporting her. The only thing her mom dose is to pretend that Dallas son is her son and that he is Dallas brother. I think Dallas Mom should be more caring. It was not like Dallas wanted any of this. I am really glad through that Ben still loves her and stays with her even through most guys would have left her. I also think by now BEN SHOULD TELL HER THAT HE DYING.

Rudy a priest?!

When I found out he was a priest I was amazed that the town drunk was once a important person to God. I also like how Ben visits him and I can already guess that the guy is lonely deep down inside. I want to know why he quit being a priest. I also think he is a real good guy and that he seems to know a lot. I sill don't get what Malcolm X is. I know it is a book but I get confused what the book is about.

Home Comming

That was an AMAZING catch and play in the book for home coming. When Ben and Cody made the plan to mess up a couple of times and then out of nowhere, Cody passed the ball (a great through) and Ben caught it. Then later on that night when you find out that Dallas got molested or whatever by her uncle, that was a double whammy! You would have never expected that, but maybe that's the reason why she acts the way she does. In Ben's dream, his subconscious person thing (I think it's Hey-Soos) was trying to tell him that he should tell Dallas about the truth, that he is dyeing. I really doubt he'll tell her until the VERY end, like when he's on his death bed and about to take his last gulp of air before going off to the football field in the sky!!

I dont' like little wolf!!!!!

I think he is being sooooooooooo mean by pulling Dallas into this, as it is he's going to be upsetting his family, his coach, his team, and now he'll have to leave Dallas. I think it is selfish of him to pull other people into his choice, because i don't care it he wants to decided to not get treatment, but he needs to stop pulling others into it. It's mean because once he dies it's over for him, except for Dallas she will always wonder if she ever really loved him and will think shje could have done something to help. It's hard when someone you love dies you always find a way to blame yourself. I feel like t's a bad thing for him to do. or is it? maybe he wanted to feel loved and be loved, i don't know, what do you guys think?
